Image Format Converter

Instructions

  1. Add images: Click the dashed area or drag images in. Multiple selection supported (up to 30 per batch); PNG / JPEG / WebP / BMP all accepted.
  2. Choose the target format:
    • WebP: Smallest files at the same quality — the go-to for the web and chat apps.
    • JPEG: The most compatible photo format; transparent areas become white.
    • PNG: Lossless with transparency, usually the largest files.
  3. Quality preset: For WebP / JPEG output choose 90% / 80% / 60%. PNG is lossless and has no quality option.
  4. Convert: The list shows per-image size before and after; download images one by one.

When to pick WebP

WebP is developed by Google and supported by all modern browsers. At the same quality it is 25%-35% smaller than JPEG and far smaller than PNG. If your images are headed for a website, an app or a chat tool, WebP is almost always the better choice; only pick JPEG/PNG when the receiving software is outdated.

Notes

  • Conversion runs locally in your browser; images are never uploaded to any server.
  • Animated GIFs are not accepted as input (they are skipped) — use the GIF Compressor instead.
  • Converting to JPEG turns transparent backgrounds white; choose PNG or WebP to keep transparency.

FAQ

Is the image converter free?
Completely free, no sign-up, no limits on images or batches — use it directly in your browser.
Which input formats are supported?
PNG, JPEG, WebP and BMP can all be used as input. Animated GIF is not supported as input — use the dedicated GIF Compressor instead.
Why does converting to WebP shrink files so much?
WebP uses a more advanced compression algorithm. At the same quality it is typically 25%-35% smaller than JPEG and more than half smaller than PNG, which is why it has become the mainstream web image format.
Is there a batch limit?
Up to 30 images per batch; you can run as many batches as you like. Larger images take longer, so split huge sets into several batches.
Are images uploaded to a server?
No. All conversion happens locally in your browser; files never leave your device.
