Encode (Text → Morse)

  1. Enter English text
  2. Click "Encode"
  3. Get Morse code (dots . and dashes -)

Decode (Morse → Text)

  1. Enter Morse code, separate letters with spaces, words with /
  2. Click "Decode"

Who invented Morse code?
Morse code was invented by American inventor Samuel Morse in 1836, originally for telegraph communication. The international standard was established in 1865 and is still used in amateur radio today.
What is SOS in Morse code?
SOS in Morse code is '... --- ...' (three short, three long, three short). It's the universal distress signal because it's simple and easy to recognize.
Does Morse code support Chinese?
Standard Morse code only supports English letters (A-Z), numbers (0-9), and some punctuation. Chinese text would need to be converted to Pinyin or another encoding first.
How does the audio playback work?
The playback uses the browser's built-in Web Audio API, generating 600Hz sine waves of different durations to simulate Morse code dots and dashes. Everything runs locally.
